Jessie Begg was born about 1869.
She married Alexander Cochrane in 1891 in New Zealand and when Jessie signed the suffrage petition they were living in Gore.
They had nine children and around 1910 they moved to Waimate where they had a farm at Deep Creek.
Jessie died on 14 July 1918 and Alexander died in 1931 – they are buried in the Waimate Cemetery.
