Julia Matilda Barnett was born in 1866 in Queenstown – the youngest daughter of George Barnett, a butcher and farmer, and Mary Ann Lyons.
She married Ebenezer Forsyth, a clerk, on 24 October 1887 at Lumsden.
They did not have any children and when Julia signed the suffrage petition they were living in East Gore.
They later moved to Waimate where Julia died on 28 February 1906 – she is buried in the Waimate Cemetery.
Ebenezer died in Wyndham in 1928 – he is buried in the Wyndham Cemetery.
