Janet Martha Lundy was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the eldest child of William Lundy and Catherine Barr.
When Janet signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Great King St, Dunedin working as a tailoress.
She moved to Wellington with her parents in the 1900s – they died there in 1911 and 1912.
Janet died in Dunedin on 14 February 1950 – she is buried with her brother and sister in the Southern Cemetery.
