Jane Johnston McGeorge was born in Dunedin in 1866 – the daughter of James McGeorge and Isabella Crow.
The family lived in Maitland St, where Jane attended Mr Diack’s Phonetic School then later the Normal School in Dunedin.
Jane did not marry and lived with her parents until their deaths. In 1919 Jane donated to the Dunedin Early Settler’s Association a framed photo of her late father and mother.
Jane died on 21 June 1941 and left bequests to the University of Otago and the Presbyterian Social Service Association in her will. She is buried in the Southern Cemetery with her parents.
