Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Jessie/Janet Pringle was born in New Zealand in 1865 – the daughter of John Pringle, a carter, and Ann Simpson. (See 56 Mrs Pringle)

She did not marry and when Jessie signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Melville Lane (off Great King St), Dunedin working as a tailoress.

After the death of her parents Jessie continued to live in the family home.

She died on 11 December 1947, and is buried with her sister in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
