Janet Renwick Malloch was born in New Zealand in 1867. She was the daughter of Donald Malloch and Elizabeth Wright. Her sister Amy Malloch also signed the petition.

When Janet signed the suffrage petition she was living at Waikouaiti where her father farmed.

In 1911 Janet married John Moncreiff a nurseryman and seed merchant. They had no children.

John died in 1941 and Janet on 11 October 1952. They were both cremated and their ashes scattered.
