Jane/Jean Ann McKissack was born on May 17th 1864 in Elgin, Morayshire, Scotland, the daughter of James McKissack and Isabella McKissack.
Her mother died in 1870 and Jane emigrated to New Zealand in the late 1870s.
She married Emanuel Rishworth, a fellmonger, in 1886 and they had 8 children.
When Jean signed the suffrage petition they were living in North East Valley, Dunedin.
Emanuel died in 1924, and Jean died on October 19th 1928. They are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
