Jessie Shiels Tait was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Tait and Janet Barber Shiels.
She married Thomas Morrow, a coal merchant, on 8 September 1892 in Dunedin and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Main Rd, Maori Hill.
They had three sons and, in later years, they went to live at Ettrick in Central Otago.
Jessie died at her home on 13 June 1941 and Thomas died in 1950 – they are buried together in the Ettrick Cemetery.
