Jane Jemima Samuel was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Samuel, a carpenter, and Margaret Adams. (See 112 M Samuel)
When Jane signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Andersons Bay, Dunedin working as a telephonist.
She died in Dunedin on 24 October 1949 and she is buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
