Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Jane Miller was born about 1852.

She had a daughter, probably with David Stalker, in 1872. She married David, a 47 year old carpenter and widower, the following year.

They had a further six children, one who died in infancy. When Jane signed the suffrage petition they were living in Maclaggan St, Mornington in Dunedin.

David died at their home in 1903, he is buried with their son in the Southern Cemetery.

In later life Jane moved to Wellington, possibly to live near her children.

She died there on October 19th 1941, and was cremated.
