Jessie Watt Dalglish was born on 11 August 1852 in New Kilpatrick Dunbartonshire, Scotland – the daughter of Robert Dalglish, an engraver for a calico printer, and Catherine Watt.
The family emigrated to New Zealand about 1862 and settled in Dunedin.
Jessie did not marry, she lived with her family in Heriot Row and died on 18 October 1915.
She is buried with her family in the Southern Cemetery.
