Anna Hanson was born about 1861 in Denmark.
She married William Jamieson, a miner, on 9 July 1878 in Greymouth.
They had seven children, one who died in infancy, and when Anna signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cobden.
In 1900 Anna and the children moved to Wellington.
William drowned in 1903 at Greymouth – he is buried in the Cobden Cemetery.
Anna died on 27 August 1935 in Wellington – she was cremated.
