Jane Coats was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Coats, a joiner, and Jane Masterton. (See 51 Mrs W Coats)
Jane did not marry and when she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Castle St, Dunedin.
She died on 9 July 1955 – she was cremated and her ashes scattered.
