Jane Buirr was born about 1856 in New South Wales, Australia.
She came to New Zealand & she married John Dickson, a carpenter and undertaker, in 1875.
They had six children and when Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Milton.
John died in 1928 and Jane died on 8 May 1944 in Milton, they are buried in the Fairfax/Milton Cemetery.
