Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Jane Fleming Dunshea was born in New Zealand in 1868 – the daughter of Samuel Dunshea, a cooper, and Clementina Allan.

She married Thomas Goodall, a carpenter, in 1889 and when she signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Main Road, South Dunedin.

Shortly after this the family moved to Christchurch. They had a total of nine children, at least one who died in infancy.

Jane died on 22 August 1933 and Thomas died in 1936, they are buried together in the Linwood Cemetery, Christchurch.
