Jane Lindsay was born about 1837 in Scotland.
She married James Gray on 10 June 1862 in Glasgow amd soon after they emigrated to Otago on the “Jura”.
They had, at least, six children and when Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in North East Valley, Dunedin.
James died in 1921 and Jane died on 23 July 1925 – they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
