Jane/Jeannie Sinclair was born about 1839 in Scotland.
She married Thomas Henderson on 4 March 1867 in Cockpen, Edinburghshire and soon after they emigrated to New Zealand.
They had five children and when Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Clinton in South Otago.
Jane died at her home on 22 March 1901 and Thomas died the following year. They are buried in the family grave in the Clinton Cemetery.
