Jane Doran was born about 1839 in Ireland – the daughter of William Doran, a labourer, and Eliza.
She emigrated to New Zealand and she married Thomas Alexander Lennon in 1869.
They had seven children and lived in Orepuki in Southland where Jane signed the suffrage petition and Thomas worked as a miner.
Jane died on 15 July 1911 and Thomas died the following year, they are buried together in the Orepuki Cemetery.
