Jane Smith was born about 1861.
She married Alfred William Pollard, a farmer and labourer, in 1882 and they had 12 children.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Owaka.
They later moved to Colac Bay.
Jane died on 17 May 1932 and Alfred died in 1939, they are buried together in the Riverton Cemetery.
