Biographical information provided by Fiona Oliver for the He Tohu exhibition:
Jane Spencer married William Prince in 1869. She had a son, Frederick, and two daughters, Mabel and Jane. When she was widowed in 1917 she was left with some means, becoming trustee of their two properties on Tiber St, Island Bay, and two on Adelaide Road, Newtown. Jane did not remarry and died in 1938, aged 87.
