Jane Todd was born about 1828 in Peebleshire, Scotland – she married Thomas Scott, a farmer, on 7 October 1858 in Biggar, Lanarkshire.
They had three children before they emigrated to New Zealand in 1879 on the “Auckland”.
The family settled in Milton where Thomas died in 1882 and where Jane signed the suffrage petition.
Jane died on 26 May 1909 at her daughter’s home in Waitahuna, she and Thomas are buried in the Milton – Fairfax Cemetery.
