Jane Neilson Cunningham was born in 1864 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Cunningham and Susan Anderson.
She grew up in Milton in South Otago where she married butcher Duncan Thomson at her widowed mother’s home on 1 January 1889.
They had six children and lived in Dunedin.
Duncan died in 1926 and Jane died on 27 June 1930 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
