Jane Taylor was born about 1850 in Aberdeen, Scotland. She married, bootmaker, Robert Webster on June 11th 1875 in Aberdeen. They had 2 sons before they emigrated to New Zealand in the mid 1880’s.
The family settled in Dunedin where Robert was declared bankrupt in 1886. When Jane signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Forth St, Roslyn. In the 1920’s they went to live at Portobello on the Otago Peninsula.
Robert died in 1932 and Jane died at her son’s home in North East Valley on November 7th 1934 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
