Jane Elizabeth Young was born about 1855 in Australia.
She married carpenter William Winton in 1889 in New Zealand and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Duddingstone, North East Valley in Dunedin.
William died in 1920 and Jane died on 27 August 1938 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
