Janet Bruce was born about 1860 in Scotland.
She emigrated to New Zealand about 1880. When she signed the suffrage petition she was living in Waikouaiti working as a nurse.
She died in the Dunedin Hospital on November 21st 1900 and is buried in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.
