Janet was born about 1851 in Scotland.
In 1879 she emigrated to Otago with her husband Peter Campbell, a house joiner, on the Napier.
They settled in Dunedin and they had a son in 1883.
When Janet signed the suffrage petition they were living in Dundas Street.
Janet died on July 28th 1935 and Peter died in 1939. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
