Janet Stark Parlane (1867-1913) was the daughter of pioneer settlers Mary Harrison and James Parlane at Tokoiti, Milton.
She married Charles Lowery of Antrim, Northern Ireland in 1895. They farmed at Clarksville, in the Tokomairiro Valley, until Janet’s death in 1913. They had four children. They were prominent members of the Presbyterian Church and supported the Bible in Schools Movement.
Janet and Charles are buried at Fairfax Cemetery near Milton.
