Janet Tinnock Sutherland was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Sutherland, a farmer, and Agnes Tinnock.
Her mother died when she was young and her father re-married in 1883. (See 128 Margaret Sutherland)
When Janet signed the suffrage petition she was living at the family farm Riverside near Port Molyneux.
She married Robert Logie, a labourer, on 5 June 1894 in the Clutha Parish and they had four children, one who died in infancy.
They later moved to Stirling where Robert worked as a carter they retired to Balclutha.
Robert died in 1943 and Janet died on 24 February 1949, they are buried in the family grave in the Balclutha Old Cemetery.
