Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Jane/Jeannie Helen Dick was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Dick, a mason, and Helen Eason. (See 143 Hellen E Dick)

When Jeannie signed the suffrage petition the family were living at 'Luscar House', Sandymount on the Otago Peninsula and Jeannie was working as a music teacher.

She married Andrew Aitken, a builder, at her home on 15 July 1921 – they had no children.

Andrew died in 1931 and Jeannie died on 19 March 1951 in Dunedin, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
