Jemima Petre Harrison was born on 14 January 1877 in Abbeylix, Queens County, Ireland – the daughter of John Harrison, a farmer, and Eliza Proctor. (See 64 Eliza Harrison)

She emigrated to Otago with her family in 1884 on the Ruapehu and they settled in Dunedin.

When Jemima signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Phillip St, Hillside.

She married Charles Hughan Duncan, a builder, in 1901 and they had four children.

Jemima died on 13 August 1949, she is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.

Charles died in 1957, he is buried in the Northern Cemetery.
