Jeannie Forsyth Corston was born in 1867 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Corston, a sawyer, and Mary Maitland Dunn.
When she signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Milton.
Jeannie married Robert Martin, a papermill worker, on 6 September 1894 - they had five children and lived in Mataura.
Robert died in Mataura in 1931 and Jeannie died on 10 August 1952, they are buried together in the Mataura Cemetery.
