Jessie Arnott Taylor was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Taylor and Catherine Hay. (See 58 Catherine Taylor)
She married James Gibson, a seaman, on 5 August 1890 at her parent’s house in Duncan St, Dunedin.
They had four children and, when Jessie signed the suffrage petition, were living with her parents in Duncan St.
James later worked as a linesman - he died in June 1934 and Jessie died on 27 August the same year.
They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
