Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Jessie Drummond Dunshea was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of Samuel Dunshea and Clementina Allan.

Jessie had two children in the 1880s before she married Charles Jones, a seaman, on 30 April 1890 in Dunedin.

Jessie and Charles had three sons and when Jessie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Dundas St, Dunedin.

Jessie died in the Dunedin Hospital on 14 January 1902, she is buried in the Northern Cemetery.

Charles disappears from the records after this time – his place and date of death are uncertain.
