Jessie Leslie (born Janet Colville, was born in Eassie, Scotland in 1824. She came to New Zealand on the Cashmere in 1859. She married Thomas Leslie and they had a hotel in Lyttelton. He dies in 1872 and she later was the host at the Highland Home in Lyttelton, a boarding house where seamen and working men stayed. She died in 1899 and was buried in Christchurch.
