Jessie Miller Wilson was born in 1869 in New Zealand – the daughter of David Wilson, a labourer, and Agnes. (See 80 Agnes Wilson)

She grew up in Milton where she signed the suffrage petition.

Jessie married Thomas Hyams, a ploughman, on 2 January 1901 in Dunedin – they had no children and lived in Milton.

Thomas died at their home in 1919 and Jessie died at Dunedin on 17 June 1926, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
