Joan Walker was born in 1867 in New Zealand in 1867 – the daughter of Archibald Walker and Joan Adams. (See 161 Mrs Walker)

When Joan signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Leith St, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.

She did not marry and after the death of her parents she remained in the family home in Cargill St.

She died on 17 May 1947 and is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
