Johanna McCutcheon was born about 1849 in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland.
She came to New Zealand in the late 1870s, and she married builder William Owen McFie in 1880.
They had six children, one who died in infancy. When Johanna signed the suffrage petition they were living in North Rd, Waikouaiti.
William died in 1931 and Johanna died at her home on May 6th 1940. They are buried together in the Waikouaiti Cemetery.
