Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Julia Millichamp was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Millichamp, a saw maker, and Rebecca Miller. (See 173 Rebecca Millichamp)

She married William Catto Greig, a confectioner, in 1885 and they had three children.

When Julia signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Queens Drive, Musselburgh, Dunedin.

They later lived in Christchurch, Wellington and Melbourne before returning to Dunedin.

In 1927 Julia sought a dissolution of her marriage on the grounds of separation by mutual consent. William had 'told her in 1919 about his friendliness with another woman and she thought they separated about the beginning of 1920.'

Julia died on 4 July 1930, she is buried in the Northern Cemetery.

William re-married in 1928, he died in Christchurch in 1944.
