Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Caterina/Kate Greenfield was born about 1860 in Victoria, Australia – the daughter of Johannas Greenfield, a boatman, and Mary Jane Annett.
She came to New Zealand with her parents as an infant and they settled at Oamaru.
Caterina married Samuel Wark Rodgers Dickson, a storeman, on 20 September 1882 in the St Paul’s Parish, Oamaru.
They had six children and when Caterina signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Paterson St, Mornington in Dunedin.
Samuel died in 1928 and Caterina died at her home on 21 October 1937 – they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
