Kate (Catherine) Gillett was married to dairy farmer James Gillett. They had a farm at Springfield and ran Brighton Dairy, at 186 Armagh St, Christchurch. Kate may have lived or worked at the dairy, as it is where she signed the petition, along with her daughter, Amy. She also had at least one son, Arthur. Kate died in 1927, aged 89.
