Kate/Catherine Helena Delahunty was born about 1851 in Ireland.
She married George Presley Hutcheon about 1871 in Victoria, Australia and they came to New Zealand and had five children.
When Kate signed the suffrage petition they family were farming at Sandymount on the Otago Peninsula.
George died at their home in 1905 and Kate later moved to Dunedin.
She died there on 3 July 1927 and is buried with George in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
