Kate Agnes Turnbull was born about 1860 in England. She emigrated to Otago in 1876, at the age of 15, on the Corona.
Kate married John Turnbull, a machinist, on 7 November 1884 in Dunedin and they had two children.
When Kates signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Helena St, South Dunedin.
Kate died on 28 May 1935 and John died in October the same year, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
