The Maney surname features in many newspaper reports and records from the 1860s onwards.
Kitty Maney may be Catherine Couper who was born in 1871, the daughter of Sarah Ann and William Couper. She married Richard David Maney in 1889. He is on the 1893 Electoral Roll as a labourer in Frasertown. There were several Richard Maneys living in the region around this time.
If correct, Kitty signed the Petition giving a Frasertown location along with her mother Sarah and her sisters Jane Hallett Beckett and Louisa Couper. Her sister-in-law, Emily Couper also signed.
