Lilias Augusta Hertslet was born about 1862 in New Zealand – the daughter of Henry Charles Hertslet and Fanny Orbell.
She married Robert Valpy Fulton, a doctor and surgeon, in 1890 and they had six children.
When Lilias signed the suffrage petition the family were living in George St, Dunedin.
Robert died in 1924 and Lilias died on 15 November 1955, at the age of 93. They are buried together in the West Taieri Cemetery.
