Elizabeth/Lizzie Cunningham was born in 1870 in New Zealand, the daughter of John Millar Cunningham, a baker, and Mary Burns.
She married James Riddle, a blacksmith, on February 17th 1892 and they had 2 children.
When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Dunback.
They later moved to Temuka then to Christchurch. Their son James died “somewhere in France” in 1917 while fighting in the First World War.
Elizabeth died on November 13th 1942 and James died in 1956. They are buried together in the Ruru Lawn Cemetery.
