L U Tiffen is actually L W Tiffen, Louisa Winifred, known as Winnie. She and her mother Lucy Eleanor signed the petition. Lucy Eleanor and Frederick John Tiffen were my great grandparents. Fred was one of Hawke's Bay's early settlers, he farmed Elmshiil from 1859, and moved to Napier when some of the land was sold to his son Frank.
