Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Lucy and her family are a bit of a mystery.

Her husband James was a butcher and they had three daughters. The family arrived in Dunedin in 1888 and the children attended Forbury, Union Street and George Street schools. When Lucy signed the suffrage petition they were living in Signal Hill Road in Opoho.

They appear to have moved sometime after the 1896 electoral roll. Where they went is unclear.
