Lavinia Williams was born about 1836 in England.
She married George Alexander Stein, a clerk, in London in 1882 and they emigrated to Otago a few years later.
When Lavinia signed the suffrage petition they were living in Mornington, Dunedin.
Lavinia died at her home on 13 August 1909 – she is buried in the Southern Cemetery.
George re-married in 1912 – he died in Wellington in 1914 and is buried in the Karori Cemetery.
