Rudolfina Lisetta Magdalen Bunnenghagen was born about 1838 in Germany.
In 1875 she travelled to New Zealand on the “Fritz Reuter” with her two young sons, her husband Johan August Rieger, a bootmaker, must have travelled separately.
They settled in Dunedin where they had a further two children were born, one who died in infancy.
When Lisette signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Anderston Rd, Dunedin.
In 1903 they moved to Herbert in North Otago where Lisette died on 19July 1908 – she is buried in the Otepopo Cemetery, Herbert.
Johan died in Christchurch in 1927 – his burial place is unknown.
