Louisa Simmonds was born about 1851.

She married Archibald Peacock Grant, a shepherd, in 1870 and they had nine children.

When Louisa signed the suffrage petition they were living in Duntroon in North Otago.

They later moved to Timaru where Archibald died at their home in 1916, he is buried in the Timaru Cemetery.

Louisa went to live with her daughter in Palmerston North where she died on 26 September 1944, she is buried in the Kelvin Grove Cemetery.
